
Data Governance Specialist

As our organization continues to grow its data-driven capabilities, we are seeking a data governance professional to ensure data is trusted, secure, and effectively managed. This role will drive data quality, compliance, and clear ownership while enabling faster insights and serving as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
Your responsibilities:
Establish and evolve data governance frameworks, processes, and standards aligned to business needs.
Drive implementation of data ownership and stewardship to ensure accountability and clarity.
Develop and maintain information models (conceptual, logical) using tools such as ER/Stuio.
Metadata management, data classification, cataloguing, and lineage.
Work hands-on with Microsoft Purview and support governance within Microsoft Fabric.
Ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001, and internal security policies.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT, Security, and Enterprise Architecture.
Support data quality and lifecycle management to increase data usability and reliability.
Strengthen data literacy to enable teams to work effectively with data.
Track governance maturity and business impact, and drive continuous improvements.
What makes you a great fit:
Experience within Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality.
Strong understanding of metadata, data modelling, and data lifecycle management.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview or similar tools.
Experience with information modelling tools (e.g., ER/Studio or equivalent).
Familiarity with modern data platforms, preferably Microsoft Fabric.
Understanding of GDPR and information security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001).
Experience with SAP data structures, SAP S/4HANA, or ERP data landscapes.
Ability to translate complex data topics into clear business value.
Understanding of how governed data enables AI, analytics, and automation is an advantage.
